This listing includes separate vintage glass flower frogs that vary slightly from one another in size and features, but all accomplish the same goal - helping you creatively arrange fresh flowers in a decorative container of your choice, often not one primarily considered a vase.
A great many of these glass flower frogs were made in the mid decades of the 20th c. to help home makers put together fresh flower arrangements for their homes. Using the frogs in the bottom of bowls, cups, pots, lined baskets, console pieces, and sometimes even actual vases makes it easy for the non florist trained home maker to get the flowers to stay put and create a look that is as unique and personal as it is beautiful.
In recent decades as flower professionals used more and more florist clay taped in the bottoms of containers, and home makers who wanted to do their own began to buy "professional" florist products at craft stores, glass flower frogs fell out of use. But believe me, since I started using flower frogs once again a few years ago, I have become convinced that they deserve a resurgence. They are so much quicker, easier, neater, earth friendly, easy to store and reusable. And best of all, based on my experiences, the likelihood of stellar results using glass flower frogs instead of florist's clay is increased enormously. These glass flower frog guys truly make the job fun.
The smaller 10 and 11 hole frogs measure approx. 3 - 3 3/4" w.
The larger 13 hole frog measures approx. 5"w.
Also it is often possible to use the individual holes in the frogs for more than one flower or foliage stem. You will be surprised at what a nice full arrangement can be created with the most common 11 hole frogs.
