  • Details
This elegant Art Deco era scenic Noritake china serving plate cand be dated to the years between 1923 and 1947 when the company used what has come to be referred to as the Morimura mark on the backs of its pieces. The mark consists of the letter "M" (standing for the name of the Morimura brothers who founded the company) surrounded by a wreath and accompanied by the words "Noritake", "Hand Painted", and "made in Japan". This rare and elegant Asian scenic pattern which consists of a colorful gloss paint scene on a matte black background with accents of gold in the scene and on the edge of the plate, and with handy gold serving handles is probably from the 1920s.

The plate measures 11" across including its handles, and is a beautiful display piece for part of a collection of early or all eras of Noritake, or to use for serving cake, pastries, or biscuits.

The plate is in gorgeous uncompromised condition for its age. There are no chips, cracks, or blemishes to its serving surfaces, and even the gold accents are rich and unworn. Age wise, design wise, and condition wise this piece is a rare and precious collectible.
