FOSTORIA DISH, Divided GLASS Dish, Fostoria "Corsage", Etched Glass Bowl, Mid Century American, Glass Relish Dish,Handled Divided Bowl, Gift

  • Details
This is one of the mid century American glass maker Fostoria Glass Co.'s most desireable relatively rare offerings. It is an especially attractively proportioned divided bowl for serving two different food items from the same dish. Divided bowls of this kind are most commonly used to serve various relishes such as sweet and dill pickles, pickles and olives, lettuce and tomatoes, mustard and mayonnaise, blueberries and strawberries, M&M's and gummy bears, or whatever you can imagine or desire to serve separately, but at the same time.

The etched pattern of flowers and foliage and ribbon was named "Corsage" by Fostoria, and while this pattern was produced from the year 1935 until 1959, it seems to have been produced in smaller quantities than some other patterns such as American (a.k.a Americana) that remain available in much larger quantities. Another of the less common, but charming features of the design of this dish is the curved, rather than more common straight, glass piece that divides the bowl into its two sections.

This piece is 9"L x 5"W x 2 1/4"H. It is in perfect condition for food serving use, or for display in a collection in your home or to give as a gift.
