Blue White CREAMER, English IRONSTONE, Crownford, Tranferware, Made in England, Blue Country Scene, Stoke on Trent, Pottery Creamer, Pitcher

  • Details
This is an estate item, part of a fine lady's "creamer collection". This one beautifully represents the lovely mid-century (1950s-70s) products of the J H Weatherby & Sons (Ltd) Co. who were part of the Stokes-on-Trent Potters from the late 1800s to the early 2000s. It was part of the company's Royal Crownford Ironstone line.

A transferware process was used to apply the quaint English country home scene on both sides of the blank ivory colored ironstone vessel. This design originally came in brown, blue, and I think perhaps also red, but the blue is the current most popular to tie in with the wide spectrum of blue and white ceramics that are trending large in current home decorating.

At 2 1/2" tall x 3" long tip of spout to tip of handle, this is a fairly mini vessel good for a single serving of cream to go with a lady's cup of hot tea or coffee.

It is in good vintage condition with only some crazing that is often considered part of the charm of vintage pottery such as this.
