  • Details
Adorable richly deorated RARE miniature Hokutosha teacup saucer made in occupied Japan. The decoration is an intricate mix of transfer design and hand painting. All of the considerable gold trim appears to have been applied by hand.

This charming little piece was undoubtedly paired with a tiny tea cup at one time with exquisite results. For now the cup is lost, but that is the fun of collecting these fine vintage pieces that are in as nice condition as this one is. At some point when you least expect it you will come across the cup that is dying to be reunited with this saucer, or at least a cup that looks so right with it. Then you can spend another $10 and savor the sheer joy of being the matchmaker you will be.

In the meantime you can use this cute old piece as a wonderful trinket dish to hold safety pins on your dresser, or maybe even as a cute coaster for a small bedside glass of water.

    3 1/8" square Excellent condition
