Tuquoise Glass Vase,Mid Century American Glass,Frosted Blue Glass,Embossed Grapes, PLANTER, Pot, Vase, Compote, Candy Dish, Pierced Glass

  • Details
This vessel - nut bowl, candy bowl, plant pot, vase - with a unique pierced rim is part of a popular group of decorative pressed glass pieces produced in busy glass factories in various locations in Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia in the middle of the 20th century. This design is sometimes seen with a lid, but whether it originally came both ways, or whether this one has simply lost its lid in the decades since it was born, it is certainly beautiful, complete, and useful for practical and decorative purposes as it is.

The outstanding features of the piece are the rich ocean blue color and embossed grapes around the sides. It can be gorgeous with a healthy philodendron plant trailing down the side, with a fresh flower arrangement created with the help of a vintage glass flower frog in the bottom, or just as a beautiful pop of color display piece. Its rich pastel ocean blue makes it a great accent particularly for a spring or summer decor. It can also be an eye catcher and palette pleaser if filled with wrapped candy treats.
