  • Details
This lovely little handled china dish was designed to go with the pleasant and gentile traditions associated with tea time. It works perfectly for holding and serving the lemon wedges many folks enjoy squeezing into their cups of tea. And the little handle is perfect for the passing the dish without touching the fruit.

The dish also works well for serving bon bons and other little sweet treats.

Hand painted Nippon china dishes from Japan are well known and loved by collectors, and began coming to the United States in the late 1800s. Because the back stamp of this piece includes "Made in Japan' with the Nippon mark it was probably made between 1921 and the end of WWII.

The plate is approx. 6 1/4"wide, and in very nice condition for its age with no chips or cracks, but only minor wear to the gold on the handle and edges of the plate. It would be a great gift for the hostess who enjoys having the "right dish" for everything, including the lemon wedges she might serve with fish or hot or iced tea.
