ENGLISH TEAPOT, Woods & Son Teapot, Ellgreave Teapot, Ironstone Teapot, Floral Tea Pot, Gold Trim, made in England

  • Details
This is a 1950s English pottery teapot from Woods & Son. Along with the Ellgreave Co. (who began to join them in the 1920s), Woods & Son made pottery and china for over 200 years before they closed in the late 1990s.

Between 1950 - 1978 Woods & Ellgreave together produced a large number of teapots in a rather large number of different shapes, sizes, and decorative patterns. This is one of the teapots made during that era.

The pot measures 7 5/8"" from tip of handle to tip of spout, and 4 1/2" high. Its pastel flower design allows it to fit beautifully in a less formal situation, however the inclusion of some gold trim lets it be formal enough for the dining room table also.

The condition is good with the exception of a few faint hairline imperfections to the lid . It would be a wonderful addition to a teapot collection, as well as a fine vessel for serving tea to a friend who stops by for an afternoon chat.
