Framed POSTAGE STAMP, Kentucky Stamp, Commemorative Stamp, 29 cent stamp, KY Bicentennial, Kentucky Statehood, Collectible Stamp,

  • Details
A 29-cent Kentucky Statehood commemorative stamp was issued on June 1, 1992, in Danville, Kentucky, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Kentucky's entry into the Union as the fifteenth state.

The stamp features an image of My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown. The home was immortalized in the Stephen Collins Foster song, which became Kentucky's official state song in 1928.

Designed by Joseph Petro of Lexington, Kentucky, the stamps were printed in the photogravure process by Stamp Venturers, Inc., and issued in panes of fifty.

Reference: Postal Bulletin (May 28, 1992).

This special stamp commemorating the 200th birthday of Kentucky has been beautifully framed behind glass using a reeded gold frame and gold silk mat accented with two other attractive mats that highlight the stamp itself.

7" x 6 1/2" x 1 3/8 -- a small but beautifully mounted collectible piece of memorabilia celebrating the state of Kentucky --a great accent for your home, or to give as a gift, especially for the native Kentuckian or for the lover of Kentucky and the fine Kentucky horse racing tradition called the Derby.
