  • Details
This is a vintage mid 20th century white Fire King casserole dish decorated with blue cornflowers on one side. It is marked on the bottom with the Achor Hocking Fire King logo and 1 1/2 qt. capacity.

The Fire King dishes with the blue cornflowers are often confused with the CorningWare Cornflower Blue dishes, but this piece is neither Pyrex nor Corning related. In fact, Fire King never gave this pattern the name Cornflower or any other name. It’s just known as that because it is so similar yet not identical to the Corning pattern. if you find this a bit confusing as I do you can get a full and clearer explanation at:

This dish measures 11"long x 3" high x 7 1/2"wide. It is in excellent vintage condition with only minimal signs of wear.

Note: It is probably best to hand wash and avoid the microwave since this vintage piece was made before microwave ovens and dishwashers were common.
